  • Multiplies the signal by an internal oscillator — inharmonic, clangorous, bell-like metallic tones
  • FREQ is the hero: log-mapped 0.5 Hz → 4 kHz. Low = tremolo/throb, mid/high = metallic ring
  • SHAPE morphs the carrier sine → harsher (squarer) for grit and denser sidebands
  • TONE post-filters the modulation products — tame the harsh upper sidebands or open them up
  • MIX dry/wet; bit-exact dry at MIX 0

Requirements

  • macOS 13 Ventura or later
  • Apple Silicon (arm64) — Intel / Windows coming later
  • ✅ Standalone app (RING.app) — A minor chord test tone
  • ✅ AU (Audio Unit v3) — GarageBand, Logic Pro, REAPER, Ableton Live

Install

  • AU → ~/Applications (open RING.app once to register)
