  • BLOOM's plate reverb engine, voiced big and bright (80s ambience)
  • Hard gate on the wet tail keyed by the dry transient — the abrupt cut IS the effect
  • Gate knob: hold 40 → 500 ms (short = explosive 80s, longer = subtler)
  • Threshold −50 → −10 dB sets when the gate opens on the hit
  • Default = the recognisable 80s snare sound

  • macOS 13 Ventura or later
  • Apple Silicon (arm64) — Intel / Windows coming later
  • ✅ Standalone app (PHIL.app) — snare-style test hits
  • ✅ AU (Audio Unit v3) — GarageBand, Logic Pro, REAPER, Ableton Live

  • AU → ~/Applications (open PHIL.app once to register)
