v1.0.0-beta — What's new ▾
  • Add noise on purpose — a deliberate colored-noise LAYER for fattening / glue, not a defect emulation
  • Amount: noise added on top of the dry signal (additive — bit-exact dry at 0)
  • Color: vm_noise spectral tilt, brown → pink → white (default pink)
  • Tone: a sweepable bandpass focus that places the noise — dark body up to air on top
  • Follow: vm_follow blends an always-on bed with a level-tracking bed, so the noise swells with the input and glues instead of sitting static
  • Built on the shared vmtape core (extends it with vm_noise + vm_follow); zero latency, no look-ahead

Requirements

  • macOS 13 Ventura or later
  • Apple Silicon (arm64) — Intel / Windows coming later
  • ✅ Standalone app (HISS.app) — A minor chord test tone
  • ✅ AU (Audio Unit v3) — GarageBand, Logic Pro, REAPER, Ableton Live

Install

  • AU → ~/Applications (open HISS.app once to register)
